Maura Sullivan to Become Railpen CFO

Railpen, the fiduciary and investment manager overseeing the £34 billion railway pension schemes, has revealed the retirement of Stu Blackett and the appointment of Maura Sullivan as the new Chief Financial Officer. Stu Blackett, currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Director, will be resigning from his position on January 8, 2024, and will retire from the organization in April 2024.

Following an extensive search, Maura Sullivan has been chosen as the successor to Stu Blackett in the role of Chief Financial Officer. Maura, who has been serving as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Railpen Board since 2022, has collaborated with various colleagues across Railpen. Her firsthand experience has provided insight into the organization's efforts to fulfill its purpose.

With over 25 years of experience in Finance, Maura Sullivan has served in various roles, including her most recent position as Deputy Group CFO at Quilter plc. In this capacity, she spearheaded the transformation of the Finance function, achieving substantial enhancements in insight and decision support capabilities related to business performance.

Throughout her career, Maura Sullivan has held significant roles, including CFO and Executive Director positions during a 12-year tenure at Credit Suisse UK Private Bank and Credit Suisse Asset Management Ltd, both being UK branches of the global Credit Suisse International Wealth Management divisions. Maura has also assumed leadership positions at renowned financial institutions such as Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase.
