The Board of Platinum Asset Management Limited is delighted to appoint Mr. Jeff Peters as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Platinum Group, guiding Platinum through the next chapter of its 30-year history.
Mr. Peters is joining Platinum after an extensive worldwide search to succeed co-founder Andrew Clifford as CEO, who announced in August that he would step down from the CEO position. Mr. Peters will assume the role of CEO upon the approval of his working visa, and the specific date will be communicated to the market at that time.
Mr. Peters brings over 30 years of industry experience to Platinum, featuring a comprehensive background in asset management along with strategic and management consulting skills. He has previously led the institutional and international businesses of two large global asset management firms, Columbia Threadneedle Investments and Putnam Investments. Prior to that, he ran the asset management practice at McKinsey. Mr. Peters holds an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and was educated at Princeton University.
Jeff Peters will not only take on the role of Chief Executive Officer but will also join the Board as Managing Director. In line with the Chair's letter to shareholders in October 2023, the appointment of Mr. Peters provides an opportunity to restructure the Board's composition for continued independence and adherence to best practice corporate governance standards. Consequently, current executive directors Andrew Clifford, Elizabeth Norman, and Andrew Stannard will step down from the Board. Mr. Clifford will maintain his position as Co-Chief Investment Officer (CIO), while Ms. Norman and Mr. Stannard will continue their management roles, reporting to the new CEO. These changes will be effective on Mr. Peters' Commencement Date.
After the aforementioned adjustments, the Board will consist of the following independent Non-Executive Directors: Guy Strapp (Chair), Anne Loveridge, Brigitte Smith, Philip Moffitt, and Jeff Peters, serving as Managing Director.
