Aoifinn Devitt to Become London CIV CIO

London CIV has appointed Aoifinn Devitt as its Chief Investment Officer (CIO). Aoifinn, who has been advising LGPS pension schemes since 2006 on matters such as asset allocation, responsible investing, and pooling, comes to London CIV from Moneta, a US-based wealth management firm, where she held the position of CIO.

Aoifinn brings a wealth of experience to her role, having served in senior investment positions such as head of investment for Ireland at Hermes Fund Managers and CIO for the Policemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund of Chicago. Her recent roles include serving as an independent adviser to four local authority pension funds in the UK, in addition to various investment committee positions.

Hailing from Ireland, Aoifinn started her professional journey in London, where she served as an investment banking associate at Goldman Sachs International and a specialist consultant at Cambridge Associates Limited. She went on to establish Clontarf Capital, a pan-alternatives research and consulting firm.

Aoifinn is a licensed attorney, holding membership with the New York Bar since 1996. She obtained her law degrees from Trinity College Dublin and Oxford University. In addition, she earned an MBA from INSEAD in France and an MSc in Applied Neuroscience from Kings College London.

Expressing her excitement about becoming London CIV's new CIO, Aoifinn stated: “I'm thrilled to be joining the London CIV team as CIO, especially at a time of evolution and growth. Having worked within the LGPS network for over 15 years, I am acutely aware of the importance of the role of London CIV in supporting our clients in the management of the LGPS."

“I'm excited to build upon my work within the public sector to develop a suite of investment products that reflects the evolving imperatives around net zero goals, cash flow generation and portfolio resilience, and above all to working with a diverse group of clients at such a momentous time in their trajectory."
