PIMCO has appointed Mohit Mittal as Chief Investment Officer – Core Strategies. In this capacity, he will supervise fixed-income portfolios within PIMCO's core suite of strategies, encompassing Low and Moderate Duration, Total Return, and Long Duration. Mr. Mittal will also lead the core portfolio management team, reporting to Dan Ivascyn, Managing Director and Group Chief Investment Officer.
As a seasoned leader on the trading floor and a member of PIMCO's Investment Committee, Mr. Mittal has a strong track record across various portfolios. Over the past five years, he has been an integral part of the Total Return portfolio management team, contributing to PIMCO's diverse sector portfolios, including Long Duration, Dynamic Bond, Stable Value, and Investment Grade Credit.
Based in the Newport Beach office, Mr. Mittal holds the position of Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer – Core Strategies. He is a member of the Investment Committee and serves as a portfolio manager for fixed-income multi-sector portfolios spanning the duration and credit spectrum. In his role as CIO of Core Strategies, Mr. Mittal assumes leadership and oversight responsibilities for strategies within the Low and Moderate Duration, Total Return, and Long Duration suite. Recognized for his excellence, Morningstar honored him with the 2020 U.S. Morningstar Award for Investing Excellence in the Rising Talent category. Additionally, Mr. Mittal sits on the board of Orangewood Foundation. He joined PIMCO in 2007 and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, along with an undergraduate degree in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Delhi, India.
