Dave Shula, Partner, Shula’s Steakhouse & Former NFL Head Coach Dave Shula currently serves as Brand Ambassador Shula’s Steak Houses, Manager of Shula Sports in Miami Beach, Florida, and Manager of our affiliate Shula Burger in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Previously, Mr. Shula was President of Shula’s Steak Houses during which time, Shula’s Steak Houses grew from six locations to more than 30 locations in nine states. Additionally, Dave helped the parent company diversify the restaurant concepts available to customers and prospective franchise owners. A graduate of Dartmouth College, Mr. Shula began his professional life with the Baltimore Colts as a wide receiver and kick return specialist. He moved into the professional coaching ranks for the next fifteen years starting with the Miami Dolphins, then the Dallas Cowboys, and finally the Cincinnati Bengals. Mr. Shula was the Head Coach of the Bengals for four and a half years. |
Andy Unanue, Managing Partner, AUA Private Equity Partners Andy Unanue is the Managing Partner of AUA Private Equity Partners, and is a member of AUA Equity’s Investment Committee. Prior to establishing AUA Private Equity, Mr. Unanue he held various positions with Goya Foods, Inc., including Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Unanue currently serves on several corporate boards including: Goya Foods, Inc., Opt-Intelligence, Inc., TRUFOODS, LLC, VStar Entertainment, LLC, Raymundos Food Group, LLC, Tijuana Flats Restaurants, LLC, and Associated Foods Holdings, LLC. Additionally Mr. Unanue serves on Columbia Uni-versity Medical Center’s Board of Advisors, the University of Miami’s President Council and several not-for-profit boards including his family’s charitable foundation, The C&J Unanue Foundation, and the New America Alliance. Mr. Unanue received his M.B.A from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and his B.B.A. from the University of Miami. |
Larry Johnson, Chief Executive Officer, Fogo de Chão Larry Johnson is CEO of Fogo de Chão. He previously worked for international law firm Baker & McKenzie, LLP in Chicago and Rio de Janeiro, before eventually becoming a founding partner of the firm’s Dallas office. In 1996 Larry became Fogo de Chão’s Corporate Counsel, and was appointed CEO in 2007. Together with the founders, Larry created the corporate tax, immigration, and supplier structure necessary to build Fogo into a global company. Under his CEO leadership Fogo launched a successful IPO in 2015 and has grown from 11 restaurants in 2007 to 48 locations across four countries. |
Francis X. Suarez, Commissioner for District 4, City of Miami Francis X. Suarez serves the City of Miami as Commissioner for District 4, working diligently to raise the standards of the community where he was born and raised. He currently also serves as Vice-Chair of the Miami-Dade Transportation Planning Organization, tasked with approving federally required plans and transportation policies, and as President of the Miami-Dade County League of Cities. The oldest of four siblings, Commissioner Suarez was born into a family where, as he describes, “being socially conscious was a kind of requirement.” Commissioner Suarez is dedicated to elevating the quality of life of the residents he serves by way of focusing on transportation and connectivity issues within the city and beyond, nurturing the growth of a tech-based economy in the area and, by extension, job creation and international opportunities with Latin America. His priorities also include affordable housing, tackling the poverty pandemic and, as a corollary, reducing crime. Commissioner Suarez graduated from Florida International University where he majored in finance and graduated in the top ten percent of his class. He went on to law school at the University of Florida Frederic G. Levin College of Law, graduating cum laude. Prior to running for public office, Commissioner Suarez founded a successful real estate firm. He is also a practicing attorney with the law firm of Carlton Fields specializing in real-estate and corporate transactions. Commissioner Suarez is married to Gloria M. Fonts. They have one child – Andrew Xavier – and consider themselves proud and blessed to be raising their family in the City of Miami. |
