Lazard Asset Management Welcomes Sean Gallagher as Global Head of Small Cap Equity platform. Mr. Gallagher assumes the role of Global Head of Lazard's Small Cap Equity platform, where he will supervise the small cap strategies and spearhead the business's progression into its next stage of expansion. Additionally, Scott Kolar is set to join Lazard's US Small Cap Equity Select team, taking on the role of Portfolio Manager/Analyst.
Mr. Gallagher comes to Lazard from Connacht Asset Management, where he served as the founder and Chief Investment Officer since 2019. Before establishing Connacht, he held the position of Partner at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), accumulating almost 18 years of experience in diverse leadership capacities. This included serving as the CIO of GSAM’s Value Equity business and subsequently as Co-CIO of GSAM’s US Equity team.
Mr. Gallagher will take charge of Lazard’s International Small Cap Equity, European Small Cap Equity, US Small Cap Equity Select, and Global Small Cap Equity strategies. Utilizing his expertise and leadership acumen, he will collaborate with the Portfolio Managers of each strategy to optimize investment outcomes for clients and foster overall business growth. Lazard currently manages approximately $3 billion across these four small cap strategies.
Mr. Kolar, also from Connacht, will assume the role of Portfolio Manager/Analyst on Lazard’s US Small Cap Equity Select strategy, under the continued leadership of Janice Davies. With a significant tenure at GSAM, Mr. Kolar previously managed the firm’s team of global technology analysts and later oversaw its US Growth Equity’s Non-Large Cap business.
