The $3B Building Ontario Fund has appointed Anca Drexler as its inaugural chief investment officer, effective April 28.
Drexler joins the infrastructure investment organization from the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, where she held several senior roles, most recently as executive vice-president and head of Treasury. Prior to that she served as the pension fund’s managing director of risk management and OMERS Capital Markets. At the pension plan, her responsibilities included liquidity management, funding, foreign exchange, and economic research for the overall portfolio.
Before joining OMERS, Drexler spent 15 years at the OPSEU Pension Trust, serving in multiple senior roles, including as Chief Risk Officer, where she built the organization’s first enterprise risk framework and played a key role in investment strategy and Board engagement.
“With over 25 years of institutional investment experience, Anca brings a thoughtful, steady approach to navigating complex portfolios and building strong, resilient teams,” said the investment organization in a post on LinkedIn. “Her leadership will play a key role in helping BOF scale our operations, advance our investment strategy, and continue delivering on our mandate to accelerate infrastructure development in Ontario.”
