Veeam Software has agreed to acquire Securiti AI for about $1.73 billion, strengthening its position in cloud data protection as demand for secure AI infrastructure grows. The acquisition will combine Securiti AI’s Data Command Center — a platform that unifies and protects data across cloud environments — with Veeam’s leading backup and recovery solutions. The move positions Veeam to better compete with peers like Rubrik and Commvault amid rising cybersecurity threats.
Securiti AI CEO Rehan Jalil will become Veeam’s president of security and AI after the deal closes later this year. Backed by Insight Partners, Veeam continues to expand aggressively; the private equity firm acquired it in 2020 for $5 billion and later valued it at $15 billion following a secondary sale in 2023.
