Christian Ryan OLY

Sydney 2000 Rowing

Olympic Silver Medalist

Christian Ryan, a country boy born and raised in Warrnambool, Victoria, is an Olympic silver medallist in the Men's Eight Rowing event at the Sydney 2000 Games. He competed for Australia from 1997 to 2007, during which time he won numerous state, national, and world championship events, with a particular focus on the Men's Eight. He retired from the sport in 2007, prior to the Beijing Games, and went on to establish his investment and wealth management business, Beulah Capital. In more recent years, Beulah Capital merged with another wealth management and finance business, Choice Capital, forming a firm that now manages more than $1 billion in funds under management (FUM) and a staff of 30 people. The business provides integrated advice services and tailored solutions to a wide range of clients with a particular focus on HNW family groups and individuals. Christian has maintained a strong connection to the sport of rowing, serving as a high-performance coach for Victorian and Australian representatives who competed at the Rio Olympic Games. He also served as President of the Melbourne University Boat Club for eight years, recently completing his tenure in 2024. Christian’s community involvement extends beyond the sporting field. He is a member of the investment committee for the Geelong Community Foundation, which provides financial support to local individuals and community groups in the Geelong region of Victoria. The foundation distributes over $1 million per annum to selected organisations and works to attract new donors each year. Christian relocated from Melbourne to Geelong in 2018, where he now lives with his partner and three children. In addition, Christian’s business interests have progressively expanded through the establishment of his private equity and capital business, Fincap, where he serves as Chairman. Fincap was created as a private capital investment platform to invest in mid-market private equity opportunities and operating real estate assets, with a strong focus on high cash-generating businesses that are simple, easy to understand, and positioned in structurally growing industries. Fincap partners with key strategic stakeholders and co-invests capital to support succession planning, business turnarounds, and growth initiatives alongside founders and key individuals.
