Amundi US has announced that Marco Pirondini will assume the role of Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for the US division, starting from January 1, 2024. He will succeed Ken Taubes as Chief Investment Officer at Amundi US, effective January 1, 2024. Ken Taubes, who has led the Amundi US Investment Team for 15 years, has chosen to step down from the role to concentrate entirely on his ongoing portfolio management responsibilities, a role he has held at Amundi US since 1998. This transition will take effect from January 1, 2024.
Marco, currently serving as Head of Equities, US, has been an integral part of Amundi US and the former Pioneer Investments, now part of Amundi, for the past 30 years. As the incoming Chief Investment Officer, Marco will take on the oversight of Amundi US's investment organization, covering Equity, Fixed Income, and Trading. In this capacity, he will act as the chairman of the US Investment Committee, maintain his membership on the US Executive Committee and Americas Management Committee, and additionally serve on Amundi's Global Investment Committee.
From 2004 to 2010, Marco held the position of Global Chief Investment Officer for Pioneer Investments, where he also served as Head of Global Equity Research and Head of European Equity Research at Pioneer. Despite his new role as US CIO, Marco will continue to lead as the Portfolio Manager for various global equity and multi-asset portfolios distributed to clients and shareholders in both the US and international markets.
This transition involves a redistribution of managerial and administrative responsibilities between Ken and Marco, with no changes to their portfolio management responsibilities.
