AllianceBernstein L.P. ("AB"), a prominent global investment firm managing $696 billion in assets, has announced the appointment of Chris Hogbin, currently Head of Equities, to the newly created position of Global Head of Investments, effective January 1, 2024. Nelson Yu, a 26-year AB veteran with almost 30 years of global equity markets investment experience, will succeed Mr. Hogbin as Head of Equities.
In his new role, Mr. Hogbin will oversee AB's public-market businesses, including Equity, Fixed Income, Multi Asset and Hedge Fund Solutions, Investment Solutions and Sciences, as well as the Responsibility team. His mandate is expected to expand to include AB's Private Alternatives business by the end of 2024.
Chris Hogbin's responsibilities include driving investment performance across asset classes by focusing on talent development, fostering collaboration, leveraging common infrastructure, and evaluating opportunities to invest in capabilities that enhance client outcomes. With 18 years of experience at AB, Hogbin has held various roles, including Director of Research for Europe and Asia, Chief Operating Officer of Equities, Co-Head of Equities, and eventually, Head of Equities in 2020.
