NewEdge Wealth named Cameron Dawson chief investment officer, making her the first CIO for the year-and-a-half old ultra-high-net-worth investment adviser.

Prior to joining NewEdge Wealth in the spring of 2021, Dawson served as chief market strategist for Fieldpoint Private, a $5 billion private wealth manager headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Dawson is a chief financial analyst (CFA) who began her Wall Street career in 2012 as portfolio management associate with U.S. Trust, overseeing $1 billion as its real estate investment trust (REIT) analyst.

She left U.S. Trust in 2014 to join its owner, Bank of America Private Bank, as senior equity analyst and CIO before joining Fieldpoint Private in 2020.

In addition to her position as CIO of NewEdge Wealth, she will be a member of the company’s investment advisor board, which includes Leon Cooperman, CEO of Omega Family Office, as well as Robert Matza, retired president of GoldenTree Asset Management

NewEdge Wealth is a division of $32 billion private wealth manager NewEdge Capital Group, a business unit of EdgeCo, a fintech provider with $160 billion under administration.
