BMO Wealth Management has appointed Daniel Phillips as chief investment officer for its U.S. market.
In his new role, Phillips will be responsible for setting allocation policy for its U.S. Wealth Management division and communicating the firm’s strategic and tactical market outlook through investment commentary and presentations. He also chairs the U.S. Asset Allocation Committee and is a member of the Personal Asset Management Committee, which oversees all aspects of the investment management business for U.S. Wealth Management.
Before joining BMO, Phillips worked for nearly 20 years at Northern Trust, serving in multiple roles, including as an investment strategist and, later, as director of asset allocation strategy, where he was lead portfolio manager for the organization’s multi-asset strategies. Prior to his role at Northern Trust, Phillips was chief investment officer for SMArtX Advisory Solutions.
The financial company announced the appointment in a post on LinkedIn. “Dan brings a powerful combination of investment expertise, strategic vision, and leadership experience that will help propel our platform and our performance to the next level,” said the Post.
