Australian Retirement Trust chairman announces retirement

Andrew Fraser, chair of the $226.3B (A$350B) Australian Retirement Trust (ART) is retiring in November, after nearly three years in the role.

Fraser was first appointed to Sunsuper as an independent director in September 2015 and served as chair of the Investment Committee before commencing as chair of Sunsuper in February 2018, noted a press release. Fraser stepped into the chair role at ART in October 2022, following the merger of QSuper and Sunsuper to form ART and the retirement of ART’s previous foundation chair, Don Luke.

“It’s been an honor to serve our members,” said Fraser in the release. “I am proud of everyone who contributed to the project to create ART and am honored to have played a role to establish ART. ART is, and will be, an enduring force for good — for our members, for the industry, and the nation.”

Beth Mohle, the deputy chair at ART will assist in the chair transition process. The fund will name Fraser’s successor at its November 20th annual member meeting.

“Andrew will leave a legacy of unwavering commitment to the service of working Australians and the stewardship of their collective retirement savings to provide financial dignity and security in retirement,” said Mohle, in the release.
