Sandro Doudin has been appointed as the
head of asset management at $45.6bn PUBLICA, Swiss federal pension plan
starting July 1.
Doudin will succeed Stefan Beiner, who will
be departing after sixteen years to take up the role of a partner at a consulting
firm c-alm from March 1.
Beiner will depart from the pension plan in February.

“Sandro Doudin convinced us in particular with his profound knowledge in defining investment strategies and asset-liability management processes,” said Doris Bianchi, director of PUBLICA, in a statement.
At present, Doudin is serving as the head
of investment strategy development at $63.2bn Versorgungsanstalt des Bundes und
der Lander, where he is responsible for defining the system’s strategic asset
allocation, implementing investment strategy, vetting high quality managers and
overseeing investment projects and driving business strategy.
He has been with the Germany-based firm for
just over three years.
Prior to that, he worked as a pension
investment manager for almost six years at Zurich Insurance Company. He joined
the firm in 2008 as an investment analyst.
Doudin earned his master of finance at HEC Lausanne - The Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne and completed his bachelors in management from University of Lausanne in Switzerland.
