Chloe Dalton OAM

Chloe Dalton OAM

Rio Olympics 2016

Olympic Gold Medalist, Rugby 7s

Chloe Dalton is one of Australia’s most celebrated athletes, but her greatest impact is now being forged in her career after sport. An Olympic Gold Medalist and a rare triple-code elite athlete, she famously carved an unconventional path to the Rio 2016 Olympics. After starting her career in professional basketball, she audaciously switched to Rugby 7s, mastering the game to become a pivotal member of the gold medal-winning Australian team and earning an Order of Australia Medal (OAM). Not content with reaching the pinnacle of two sports, Chloe next conquered the world of AFLW, playing two seasons for Carlton Football Club before switching to the GWS Giants. Her journey across three professional codes was marked by incredible highs and profound resilience, particularly after a devastating injury forced her to withdraw from the Tokyo Olympics right on the eve of the Games. It was this unique perspective that fueled her true calling. Frustrated by the stark media disparity where female athletes receive only 4% of coverage, Chloe launched The Female Athlete Project during the 2020 lockdown. This powerful platform has since exploded into a global movement, reaching hundreds of thousands through its podcast and social channels by sharing the stories and championing the achievements of women in sport. Now retired from professional competition, Chloe has transitioned into a formidable advocate and storyteller. Through her best-selling books, Girls Don’t Play Sport and The A to Z of Who I Could Be, her work as a media personality, and her compelling keynote speeches, she shares powerful lessons on challenging the status quo, building resilience, and the critical importance of visibility. Chloe Dalton’s story is not just one of athletic triumph; it’s a blueprint for creating meaningful and lasting change at a personal, professional and organisational level.
