The C$299.7 Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) is investing in Lighthouse Learning Group, a leading Indian education services provider.
The pension fund’s investment is through funds managed by global investment firm KKR, according to a news release. Lighthouse Learning is one of India’s leading education services platforms that operates in the early childhood and kindergarten to grade 12 segments in India. The investment will enable Lighthouse Learning to further expand its network of schools across key Indian cities.
Guided by a “child-first” philosophy and innovative teaching pedagogy, Lighthouse Learning’s portfolio of brands includes EuroKids, Kangaroo Kids, EuroSchool, Billabong High International, Centre Point Group of Schools, Heritage International Xperiential School, and Heritage Xperiential Learning School, among others. Today, the organization has more than 190,000 students across its more than 1,850 preschools and 60 K-12 schools.
Since KKR’s initial investment in 2019, Lighthouse Learning has continued to expand its education platform to students across the country, catering to the rising household demand for quality education in India. It has significantly expanded its footprint through organic and inorganic growth strategies and strengthened its presence across key metropolitan areas, including Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Delhi’s North Capital Region.
KKR will continue to hold a majority stake and will play a significant role in driving Lighthouse Learning’s next phase of growth.
