The Nova Scotia Pension Services Corp. has appointed Cathy Clarke chief pensions officer, effective Aug. 11.
Clark joined NSPSC in 2011 as a program administration officer. After a year, she was promoted to senior manager, employer services. She brings to the role extensive knowledge of the NSPSC’s pension plans, strong relationships with plan employers, and a well-established reputation for service excellence and collaborative leadership, noted a press release.
“Cathy’s extensive understanding of our plans and operations, paired with her strong leadership and member-focused approach, made her an outstanding choice to lead the Pensions Division into its next chapter,” said the pension fund’s chief executive officer, Doug Moodie, in the release.
She will succeed Kim Blinn, who is retiring from the role, which she has held since 2004. During Blinn’s tenure at the NSPSC and its predecessor organizations, she played a pivotal leadership role in its evolution from a government department to a not-for-profit corporation. Her retirement will be effective Sept. 30, 2025.
“Kim’s impact on NS Pension has been profound,” said Moodie. “Her leadership, strategic insight, and commitment to members have helped shape the member-focused organization we are today. On behalf of the Board and staff, I thank Kim for her tremendous contributions and wish her all the best in retirement.”
