Australian Venue Co (AVC), a major owner of pubs and hospitality venues across Australia and New Zealand, has brought on a new private equity partner to accelerate its expansion. CVC Capital Partners, through its Asia VI fund, has acquired a 45% stake in AVC from existing majority shareholder PAG.
Following the transaction, both CVC and PAG will each hold 45% of the business, with the remaining equity retained by management. The partnership is intended to fuel AVC’s next growth phase, including venue refurbishments and new acquisitions in key population hubs.
AVC CEO Paul Waterson said the deal provides access to critical capital for scaling operations and enhancing customer experience. Leaders from both CVC and PAG expressed confidence in AVC’s management and its strong market position.
