Sonali Dalal is exiting Pennsylvania State University to build out a proprietary investment office for the University of St. Thomas, according to a press release.

Dalal recently served as deputy chief investment officer for the $4.5 billion Penn State college endowment. She will relocate to St. Paul, Minn., to become vice president and CIO of St. Thomas, which has $900 million under management. Dalal will begin working for St. Thomas in August, reporting to Rob Vischer, interim president, as well as Mark Vangsgard, chief financial officer.

She joined Penn State in 2002 as senior investment analyst. Dalal has also been chief investment strategist for the college endowment from 2016 to 2018. She began her Wall Street career with Export Import Bank of India in 1996.

Dalal is an alum of Penn State, where she received her MBA in finance. She is also a chartered financial analyst (CFA).

Penn State did not return a phone call asking for comment on who was replacing Dalal.
