Nest Corp. appoints chair for its new investment subsidiary

Nest Corp. has named Sally Bridgeland chair of the board of Nest Invest Ltd. Board, its new investment subsidiary, effective October 1.

The new investment subsidiary is designed to provide a more robust oversight of investment strategy and governance, noted a news release. It will replace Nest Corp.’s existing investment committee, subject to regulatory approval.

Bridgeland will provide independent oversight into this new governance structure and will be responsible for overseeing the ongoing evolution of Nest Invest.

“Sally has previously played a part in Nest’s success, serving as a member of Nest’s trustee Board so I know her leadership will play a crucial role in ensuring that Nest Invest continues its evolution into a world-class investment function, aligned with the best interests of our members,” said Brendan McCafferty, the pension scheme’s board chair, in the news release.

Bridgeland currently serves on the boards of the Development Bank of Wales, BelleVie, Pension Insurance Corp., and RSA Insurance. Further, she recently finished terms with Royal London, the Local Pensions Partnership, and Impax Asset Management.

Nest manages more than £50B of assets and receives more than £500M in contributions each month.
