Elevation Point, a strategic growth partner focused on supporting independent advisors and breakaway teams, has announced a minority investment in Family Office Partners—a newly launched independent wealth management firm based in Lafayette, Louisiana. The team, which oversees approximately $2.5 billion in client assets, is led by former UBS private wealth advisors and serves clients throughout the southern U.S.
With Elevation Point’s backing, Family Office Partners has launched as a fully independent platform aimed at delivering tailored, conflict-free advice. The 12-member team specializes in working with entrepreneurs, family offices, and ultra-high-net-worth clients, with particular expertise in business transitions and complex financial planning. Founding partners Benjamin T. Domingue, Travis D. Frayard, and Shawna S. Prejean bring a combined six decades of industry experience.
“These advisors have earned the trust of some of the country’s most sophisticated families,” said Jim Dickson, CEO and founding partner of Elevation Point. “Their move to independence reflects where the industry is headed, and our goal is to help them build a firm that’s true to their vision and their clients’ long-term needs.”
Family Office Partners focuses on advising families with significant private business interests, offering investment management alongside a range of family office services. These include exit planning, corporate strategy, ESOP guidance, tax and estate planning, philanthropy, and governance.
“This isn’t just a move—it’s the launch of something built from the ground up to serve families facing the complexities of private company ownership,” said Domingue. “Elevation Point’s support gives us the operational scale and strategic flexibility to serve clients the way we believe they should be served—independently and holistically.”
The firm now benefits from Elevation Point’s integrated platform, including access to Goldman Sachs Custody Solutions and BNY Pershing for custody services.
“I’ve worked with this team for years, and the level of specialization they bring to the families they serve is exceptional,” added Brad Smithy, Elevation Point’s head of wealth management. “Their commitment to multigenerational, customized advice fits squarely with our mission.”
This investment marks another milestone for Elevation Point, following recent momentum including its partnership with Emigrant Partners and the appointment of new board members. The firm continues to focus on delivering capital and strategic resources to entrepreneurial advisors without compromising their independence or ownership.
