Guggenheim Appoints Steve Brown as CIO Fixed Income for GPIM

Guggenheim Investments has appointed Steve Brown as Chief Investment Officer, Fixed Income for Guggenheim Partners Investment Management (GPIM). In this role, he will continue to report to Anne Walsh, Chief Investment Officer for GPIM. Mr. Brown previously served as Chief Investment Officer for Total Return and Macro Strategies. GPIM is the primary affiliated registered investment management advisor for the firm.

Mr. Brown, who initially joined Guggenheim Investments in 2010 within GPIM's asset-backed securities group, later transitioned to the Total Return Portfolio Management (TRPM) team as a Portfolio Manager in 2012. Alongside Anne Walsh, he co-leads the TRPM team, responsible for managing various funds and institutional accounts, including the flagship Guggenheim Total Return Bond Fund (GIBIX), across the firm's total return multi-sector platform. In his expanded role, Mr. Brown will also collaborate with Ms. Walsh in serving the firm's insurance company clients, while continuing to work closely with various teams to develop and execute investment strategy.

Before joining GPIM, Mr. Brown had roles in structured products at ABN AMRO and Bank of America, both in Chicago and London. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business. Additionally, he has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
