Assistant Minister of Investment, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

His Excellency Ibrahim Almubarak has been the Assistant Minister of Investment in Saudi Arabia since June 2023. He previously served as the Deputy Minister for Social Security at the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development from 2019 to 2021, where he developed the national strategy for social benefits and income support, delivering policy reform recommendations for the social security law and other programs, which resulted in the passing of the new Social Security Law with a royal decree on the 17th of November 2020. Almubarak had a successful career in the private sector in Saudi Arabia and abroad, where he held various positions; Vice President of Alfozan Holding, Managing Director of Inma Steel Co. Ltd., Asia Pacific Business Development Manager for Schlumberger to name a few. In addition to his executive roles, he served on a number of boards, including Takween Advanced Industries, the Arab Paper      Manufacturing Co. (WARAQ), the Family Affairs Council, and Alahsa Medical Services Company. Almubarak holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) and a Master’s Degree of Science in Behavioral Science from London School of Economics and Political Science. Furthermore, Almubarak is an Eisenhower Fellow, a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), and a certified Director by the GCC Board Directors Institute.

Junaid is the CIO of the Muhaidib Investment Office, overseeing the Family Office and Financial Investments at Al Muhaidib Group. His mandate spans international private markets and public markets. He previously worked at the $730m IDB Infrastructure Fund, co-founded Tadhamon Capital, and advised regional family offices. Earlier, he held roles at Janus Henderson, Fitch, JP Morgan, and KPMG. A Fellow of the ICAEW, Junaid holds an Economics and Political Science degree from Middlebury College and serves on several boards.

Bilal Abduljawad is Acting Head of Financial Investments at Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Alrajhi Holding Company and co-founder of Blomal. He serves on several board sub-committees and previously led investments at Kun Investment Holding, overseeing financial investments and M&A. His earlier roles include positions at Sedco Capital and Sanabil Investments. Bilal holds an MSc in Finance from ESADE Business School and a Bachelor's in Economics. He earned both the CFA and CAIA designations in 2019, reflecting his strong expertise in finance and investments.

With over 20 years of expertise in private equity, venture capital, M&A, and investment banking, Faisal Baig is adistinguished investment professional. As Chief Investment Officer at ASFAR, a subsidiary of the PublicInvestment Fund (PIF), Faisal oversees investments across the tourism value chain in alignment with SaudiArabia's Vision 2030. His extensive experience includes executing high-profile transactions in the U.S., Europe,and the Middle East, spanning sectors such as technology, consumer goods, manufacturing, and oil & gas. Prior to his role at ASFAR, Faisal served as Division Head in Aramco’s corporate development team, playing a crucial role in strategic M&A and joint ventures, including the landmark $69 billion acquisition of SABIC. His previous experience in private equity includes positions at GFH and Investcorp, where he led mid-market transactions. Faisal began his career in the U.S. with leading firms such as Citi, JPMorgan, and New Enterprise Associates(NEA). He holds an MBA from Yale University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University.
