Thoma Bravo is preparing to sell Raptor Technologies, its Houston-based school safety software provider, in a deal that could value the company at more than $2 billion, according to sources familiar with the matter. The private equity firm has engaged JPMorgan to advise on the sale process, expected to launch later this year.
Raptor Technologies offers a suite of safety software for K-12 schools, including crisis prevention tools, emergency response management, and student movement tracking. Its platform is currently used by 60,000 schools across 55 countries. The company generates over $80 million in EBITDA, making it a highly attractive target as demand for school safety solutions grows.
The sale comes at a time when school safety remains a pressing issue, with 336 incidents recorded in U.S. K-12 schools last year, only slightly below the record high set in 2023, according to the K-12 School Shooting Database.
