The Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association named Zoe
Alexander as the director of policy and advocacy, starting November.
Alexander will be reporting to Julian Mund, the CEO at PLSA.
Alexander will succeed Nigel Peaple, who has been promoted to the role of PSLA's first chief policy counsel.
Peaple will step down from his current role in August, however will cover for Alexander on an interim basis.
“The PLSA will play a key role in shaping this thinking, and
I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead a talented team, building on
their strong record of advocacy in savers’ interests,” said Alexander in the
press release.
“Zoe joins the PLSA at a potentially transformative time for
pensions policy. With a review of our retirement savings system and an
announcement of a Pensions Schemes Bill, the Government has made clear that
pension reform will be among its highest priorities,” said Mund in the press
release.
Presently, she is working as the director of strategy and
corporate affairs at NEST, chairs the PLSA’s master trust committee and is a
part of its policy board.
Prior to joining NEST in 2015, she was serving as a non-executive
director and trustee at Emmaus UK for almost two years.
In the beginning of her career, she also worked at the
department for work and pensions and HM Treasury.
