The 4th Annual West Institutional Real Estate Investor Forum is a local peer to peereducational meeting exclusively for the institutional and HNW wealth management community with aspecific focus on allocations to real estate.

The program agenda has been developed throughextensive local travel and feedback from the local markets including executive directors, chiefinvestment officers, senior finance and investment staff, general counsels and trustees representinginstitutional & HNW wealth management asset owners including public and corporate pension plans,endowments, foundations, insurance portfolios, healthcare plans, investment consultants, familyoffices, HNW wealth managers and private banks.

In a closed door and non-salesy environmentwe provide a platform for peer to peer knowledge exchange for the institutional and HNW wealthmanagement community with a specific focus on allocations to real estate. Our coverage is constantlyupdated to reflect the latest in core, value add, real estate debt, industrial and hospitalityinvestments spanning building initial allocations to managing multi-billion dollar portfolios.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Betty T. Yee, California State Controller

State Controller Betty T. Yee was elected in November 2014, following two terms of service on the California Board of Equalization. As Controller, she continues to serve the Board as its fifth voting member. Reelected for a second term as Controller in 2018, Ms. Yee is only the tenth woman in California history to be elected to statewide office.

As the state’s chief fiscal officer, Ms. Yee chairs the Franchise Tax Board and serves as a member of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) and the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) Boards. Ms. Yee serves on dozens of boards and commissions with authority ranging from land management to crime victim compensation. As a member of the State Lands Commission (and chairperson in even-numbered years), she helps provide stewardship of public-trust lands, waterways, industrial wharves, marine terminals, pipelines, and resources through economic development, protection, preservation, and restoration consistent with the state’s environmental needs. Through other financing authorities, Ms. Yee is dedicated to creating incentives to increase the number of affordable housing units, spur economic development, support pollution-control innovations, and strengthen health and educational facilities.


Rahul Idnani, ManagingDirector, Global Chief Operating Officer and U.S. Head of Portfolio Management, Nuveen RealEstate

Rahul Idnani is the Global COO and U.S. Head of Portfolio Management of Nuveen Real Estate. In this role, he manages a $50 billion real estate portfolio across all property types and risk styles on behalf of institutional and retail clients. He also leads strategy and corporate development activities for the platform globally. Prior to his current role, Rahul held senior positions within TIAA’s asset management platform leading the acquisition of Nuveen Investments and expansion of the real assets platform, including farmland, timber and infrastructure. Rahul previously held leadership roles at ING Group, where he supported the restructuring efforts and ultimate IPO of Voya Financial.


Jamie Shen, Chief InvestmentOfficer, PGIM Agricultural Investments

Jamie Shen is the ChiefInvestment Officer of PGIM Agricultural Investments. In this role, she leads the equity team inmanaging the portfolio of agricultural properties. Jamie is located in San Francisco. Prior tojoining Prudential in 2017, Jamie was an Executive Vice President and Practice Leader of AlternativeInvestments Consulting with Callan Associates where she had overall responsibility for Real AssetsConsulting services. While Jamie’s particular focus was on agriculture and real estate, she oversawresearch and implementation of real estate, timber, infrastructure and agricultural asset classesand chaired Callan’s Alternative Investment Committee. Prior to Callan, Jamie was a Principal withThe McMahan Group, a San Francisco based-management consulting firm specializing in real estateenterprises. Jamie has worked in the real estate consulting groups of both Arthur Andersen and Ernst& Young and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the HaasSchool of Business, University of California, Berkeley.


Salman Khan, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Principal, Stabilis Capital Management

Mr. Khan is the Founder and Managing Principal of Stabilis Capital Management, LP. Since late 2010, Stabilis has raised five separate investment vehicles with total capital commitments in excess of $1.7 billion. Prior to forming Stabilis, Mr. Khan spent 12 years at Goldman Sachs and 6 years at Silver Point Capital, where he started and ran the US and Latin American loan acquisition businesses with investment strategies similar to Stabilis, investing over $5 billion of capital. Mr. Khan graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and earned his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
