Thorsten Weinelt, Chief Investment Officer, CommerzbankThorsten Weinelt joined Commerzbank AG as Chief Investment Officer in May 2022. Prior to joining, he had several senior management roles with his 25 years tenure at UniCredit Group, among which he was Global Head of Research & Chief Strategist within the Corporate & Investment Bank, CIO of the UniCredit Bank AG Pension Fund and Head of Wealth Management and Member of the UniCredit Group WM EXCO responsible for the asset management of private clients, sales as well as products units in Germany. He started his career at HypoVereinsbank as an Economist and Fixed Income & FX strategist before taking over the responsibility for building a complete new credit research team from scratch. Thorsten holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Master Degrees in Economics and Applied Economics from the University of Kiel as well as Paris -Dauphine. He is a CFA and CEFA/DVFA charter holder.
