Key Discussion Topics

INVESTING IN A WORLD OF UNCERTAINTY:
Etched in the memory of many investors are two historic bear markets: the tech bubble in 2000 and the financial crisis of 2008. The combination of geopolitical concerns, low volatility and market valuations have led some investors to fear another bear market is right around the corner. However, while a correction is always possible, it is unusual to have a bear market without a recession. David Lebovitz will provide his assessment of the state of markets and the economy.

Macro Outlook and Fixed Income Opportunities:
As we enter 2018, the panelists will discuss their views on the global economy including economic growth, central bank policy, and geo-political happenings. Against that backdrop, they will discuss where they are finding opportunities across various areas of the global public fixed income markets including global rates, currencies, sovereign debt, emerging market debt, credit, and securitized assets.

Investing in Alternative Risk Premia:
In recent years, growing numbers of investors are seeking higher returns and diversification through alternative risk premia (ARP) strategies. But what exactly does it involve, and what should investors look for when considering which APR strategies to invest in? What’s driving their adoption? Our panelists will discuss these questions and more.

ETFs as a Tool for Optimizing Institutional Portfolios:
ETFs now have more assets than hedge funds and account for 30% of all US trading volume. While they began as a tool for retail investors, institutional ownership of ETFs now accounts for close to 60% of the industry’s $3Trn in total assets. This session will focus on how and why ETFs have become increasingly relevant to institutions, and how pensions are leveraging the product in dynamic ways, and more...
