Palm Beach Global Finance Forum is an intimate gathering of the world’s most influential alternative managers and allocators. In this closed door setting on the waterfront at the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach, the Forum is the center of alternative investment thought leadership, information exchange and global partnerships. The Palm Beach Forum is developed and led by The Palm Beach Hedge Fund Association and Markets Group. With their guidance and oversight, this one-day event will provide participants with an educationally focused agenda and will feature leading practitioners from the fields of private equity, venture capital, real estate, hedge funds, cryptocurrency, artificial intelligence and other sectors of the alternative investment market. 


KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Jeff Greene, Real Estate Entrepreneur

Jeff Greene was born in 1954 in Worcester, Massachusetts. His father ran a business selling used textile machinery and his mother was a religious school teacher. His parents taught and instilled in him a strong set of moral and economic values that would become the basis of a long and fortuitous career in real estate investment and development. While at Harvard, Greene began investing in residential real estate by purchasing a 3-family home not far from the business school, where he would reside while getting his MBA. He gained a quick understanding of the real estate business and by the time he completed his second year at Harvard Business School, he had accumulated 18 properties and a net worth of over a million dollars.


Bill Stone, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, SS&C Technologies

Mr. Stone founded SS&C Technologies Inc. and SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc., in 1986. He served as the President of SS&C Technologies Holdings Inc. from 1986 to April 1997 and also from March 1999 to October 2004. He served as President of SS&C Technologies Inc. from March 1999 to October 2004 and also as its Secretary. Mr. Stone directed the financial services consulting practice of KPMG LLP in Hartford, Connecticut and served as Vice President of Administration and Special Investment services at Advest, Inc. He served as a New York Stock Exchange and Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board Principal and was an Associated Person with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.


Marc Bell, Chairman and Co-Founder, Terran Orbital

Marc Bell is co-founder and Chairman of Terran Orbital, the world’s largest manufacturer of Nano-satellites. Marc is also a co-founder of Armour Residential REIT with over $9 billion in assets. Prior, Marc was founder of Globix, the world’s largest logical peer with over 28,000 miles of fiber covering the globe and 1 million square feet of Data Center Space hosting companies such as Microsoft and Walmart in the 1990s. Marc is a also two-time Tony Award winning Broadway Show Producer of shows such as August: Osage County and Jersey Boys. Marc is a member of the Board of Trustees of New York University, Boca Raton Police Foundation, SOS Children’s Village Florida, Boca Raton Museum of Art and Board of Overseers of NYU Langone Medical Center.


Nathan Leight, Founder, Terrapin Partners

Mr. Leight is the senior managing member of Terrapin, and the chief investment officer of Terrapin Asset Management. Mr. Leight has over 30 years of experience in asset and hedge fund management, as well as venture capital and private equity investing. Previously, Mr. Leight was the chief investment officer of Gabriel Capital, a hedge fund which specialized in bankruptcies, under-valued securities, emerging markets, private equity and merger arbitrage.


Michael Falk, Chairman, Managing Partner, Comvest Partners

Michael is Chairman, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Comvest Partners. Michael chairs Comvest’s Executive Committee, which oversees firm-wide management and the strategic direction of the firm. Under Michael’s leadership, Comvest has grown to manage three distinct middle market investment strategies with over $3 billion in assets under management and 75 full time professionals. Under his direction, Commonwealth led equity or equity related investment transactions to finance operations, acquisitions and/or restructuring of more than 100 technology, healthcare and service-related lower middle market businesses. Michael is Co-Trustee of the Michael and Annie Falk Foundation which supports children, the environment and the arts. Michael received a B.A. in Economics from Queens College and has pursued further education through Stanford University’s Executive Program for small businesses and Harvard Business School’s CEO program.


Bill Collatos, Founder, Spectrum Equity

Mr. Collatos is a co-founder and Managing Director of Spectrum Equity. His business career includes over 30 years experience making private equity investments and advising business owners. He is a cum laude graduate from Harvard University (class of 1976) with a degree in economics. Since graduating, he has worked progressively for Fleet Bank as a Vice President in their commercial lending group, TA Associates as a General Partner of their private equity and advisory program, Media Communications Partners as a founding General Partner and, most recently, Spectrum Equity as a co-founder and Managing Director.


Garth Friesen, Chief Executive Officer, Ill Capital Management

Garth Friesen is the CEO at the hedge-fund manager, III Capital Management. He has served in multiple capacities at the firm, including Co-Chief Investment Officer. Garth has specific investment expertise in numerous markets, including fixed income, equities, and credit and interest-rate derivatives. He served as a member for five years on the New York Fed’s Investor Advisory Committee on Financial Markets. Prior to joining III, he was an interest-rate swaps market-maker for two Wall Street Banks. He is also the author of the book, Bite the Ass off a Bear: Getting in and Standing Out on a Hedge Fund Trading Floor.


Bruce Richards, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Marathon Asset Management

Bruce Richards is Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Marathon Asset Management. Richards is responsible for general oversight of the $15.5 billion the firm manages on behalf of its institutional investors. He also leads the firm’s Executive Committee and is a member of its Investment Committee. Richards' day-to-day presence is critical in maximizing Marathon's synergies and leveraging the intellectual capital throughout Marathon.
