The 14th Annual Private Equity Latin America Forum is Latin America's leading private markets investment conference. The forum brings together investors, fund managers, and advisers for a two-day meeting to discuss sectors, due diligence, and private equity investment opportunities in Latin America and around the world. The investor-focused event provides a due diligence platform for international and South American pension funds, foundations, endowments, fund of funds, family offices, wealth managers, consultants, and sovereign wealth funds interested in direct research on private investment opportunities.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Renato Abissamra, Senior Partner, Spectra Investments

Mr. Abissamra joined Spectra in 2013 to direct fundraising, investor relations and portfolio monitoring. Renato has over 30 years of experience in the financial and capital markets, including 17 years of experience in the private wealth management groups of large banks in Brazil such as Credit Commercial de France, HSBC and BNP Paribas. Prior to joining Spectra, Renato was Chief Operating Officer and head of the Private Banking Client and Trading desk for Brazil at BNP Paribas. Renato holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, an MBA from FIA-USP and attended post-graduate programs at FGV and HEC – Paris. He is fluent in Portuguese and English and has intermediate-level fluency in French.

Pedro Parente, Managing Partner, eB Capital and Former Brazilian Minister, eBCapital

Co-Founder of eB Capital Parente joined eB Capital in 2019. Before joining eB Capital , Parente was CEO and Chairman of BRF (lately he remains as Chairman only), CEO of Petrobras, Bunge Brasil and Grupo RBS. He is a highly recognized and respected executive in Brazil.

Prior to his corporate experience, Parente had a long and successful career in the public sector, culminating as Chief of Staff of Fernando Henrique Cardoso's presidency.

Daniel Borghi, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Partner, Crescera Capital

Daniel Borghi is Co-Chief Executive Officer and partner co-responsible for the Private Equity strategy in the education and technology sectors and member of the firm’s Executive Committee. Mr. Borghi has been with Crescera since 2008. Prior to joining Crescera, Mr. Borghi worked at McKinsey & Co, working mainly with financial institutions. Mr. Borghi was also an executive at Docas Participações, an investment holding company and was also a partner at Finance Ltda., where he dealt with M&A, Venture Capital and Restructuring strategies. Mr. Borghi holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, a Masters in Economics from IBMEC Business School, Rio de Janeiro, and a degree in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications from PUC-Rio. Mr. Borghi served as a Board Member for Afya, Uniceplac and Wide and is currently a Board Member at Nelogica.

Romero Rodrigues, Managing Partner at Headline & Co-Founder, Buscapé

Mr. Rodrigues is currently in charge of the Venture Capital strategy at XP Asset Management, which has recently accumulated 916 million BRL worth of fundraising. He has over 24 years of experience investing in startups and cofounded Buscapé, one of the first startup companies in Brazil in 1998, of which he was CEO until 2014. In 2009, Buscapé was sold to Naspers for 374 million USD.

Gustavo Montezano, Chief Executive Officer, YvY Capital

Mr. Montezano, CEO of YvY Capital, dedicated to accelerating innovation and efficiency in economic, environmental and climate transitions. With a multidimensional approach to leading projects that aim to achieve significant results. During his recent tenure as CEO of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), he played a fundamental role in leading projects that positively impacted Brazil's infrastructure and the lives of millions of people. With a robust career at BTG Pactual, Montezano led several initiatives in the credit area, solidifying his reputation in this sector, also working in the Private Equity market at Bank Opportunity.

Adriana Barbosa, CEO, Feira Preta Hub

Diretora-Executiva da PretaHub, empreendedora social e considerada uma das negras mais influentes do mundo, fundou o Festival Feira Preta, maior evento de cultura e empreendedorismo negro da América Latina. Graças à visão e determinação, a Feira Preta cresceu ao longo dos anos, atraindo milhares de visitantes e se tornando um importante impulsionador da economia criativa e do empreendedorismo negro no Brasil. Henrique Meirelles, Finance Secretary, São Paulo State Government

Mr. Meirelles was the longest-serving president of the Central Bank of Brazil between 2003 and 2011, a period of economic growth, job creation and inflation control, and helped to pull Brazil out of the deepest recession in its history. In the private sector, he worked for 28 years at the Bank of Boston and is the only Brazilian to hold the role of Global President. He was also Chairman of the investment bank Lazard Americas, Senior Advisor at KKR, and Chair-man of Lloyds of London. In 2002, he was elected as the most voted congressman in the his-tory of his home state of Goiás. In 2018, Meirelles ran for the Brazilian Presidency, receiving 1.3 million votes all over the country. He graduated from the University of São Paulo (USP) with a master’s degree in economics and master’s degree in administration from the UFRJ.

Ricardo Scavazza, Co-founder, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Investment Officer of Private Equity, Patria Investments

Mr. Scavazza is a Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer & Chief Investments Officer of Private Equity for Latam strategies. Mr. Scavazza is primarily responsible for the conduction of all Latam Private Equity strategy at Patria. Before taking over as CEO & CIO for Private Equity Latam, Mr. Scavazza served as the Head of Private Equity Strategy in Brazil. Mr. Scavazza joined Patrimônio in 1999, became a partner in 2005 and has worked on several new investments and acquisitions for the portfolio companies of Private Equity Funds I, II, III, IV and V. In addition, Mr. Scavazza worked as Chief Executive Officer at Anhanguera between 2009 and 2013, Mr. Scavazza was also Chief Financial Officer at DASA, in 2001, and at Anhanguera from 2003 to 2006. Mr. Scavazza holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) and an MBA from Kellogg Scholl of Management, Northwestern University.
