Matthew Michelini, Partner, Head of Asia-Pacific, Apollo

Matthew Michelini is Partner, Head of Asia-Pacific at Apollo and a member of the Firm’s Leadership Team. Matt joined Apollo in 2006 in Private Equity and has played a pivotal role in the creation and success of many of Apollo’s largest growth initiatives, including Athene, Hybrid Value, Apollo Dedicated Insurance Program, Natural Resources, and the Financials Institutions Group. Matt serves as Investment Chair for Apollo’s Hybrid Value business. He currently serves on the board of directors of Challenger and Hero FinCorp Inc., and previously served on the boards of Athene Holding Ltd., Venerable Holdings, MaxCap, Aleris Corporation, Metals USA, Noranda Aluminum, One Main Financial, and Warrior Met Coal. Previously, Matt was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Lazard Frères & Co.

Hazem Ben-Gacem, Co-CEO, Investcorp

Hazem Ben-Gacem is Investcorp’s Co-Chief Executive Officer with nearly 30 years of experience in successfully leading private equity investments across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Today, he chairs the investment committees of the firm’s Private Equity activities in Europe, Middle East and Asia, as well as chairing the investment committee of the Asia Food Brands Fund. In addition, he oversees the firm’s infrastructure investment business and its client and investor relationships globally. Amongst others, Hazem sits on the Investcorp Group’s Executive, Operating and Risk Management Committees. Prior to his co-CEO appointment, Hazem led Investcorp’s European private equity and Technology private equity teams, based out of London. During that period, Hazem was directly involved in over 40 of Investcorp’s private equity investments in Europe and North America. Prior to joining Investcorp in 1994, Hazem was a member of Credit Suisse First Boston’s mergers and acquisitions team in New York.

Alex To, Chief Executive Officer, CDH Investments

Prior to joining CDH, Mr. To was Co-head of Asia Pacific Investment Banking at Bank of America. He has been instrumental in building the Bank of America investment banking franchise (formerly Merrill Lynch) into one of market leaders across the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining Bank of America in 2014, Mr. To was Co-Head and later Chairman of China Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley where he helped build one of the most successful investment banking franchises in the China market. Mr. To has originated, led and executed many of Asia's landmark and most profitable transactions including equity, debt, derivative and cross-border M&A transactions for both state-owned and private sector clients. Prior to commencing a career in investment banking, Mr. To practiced law in Hong Kong and advised clients in China on capital markets and M&A transactions including some of the first batches of H share listings and FDI transactions. Mr. To received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California, and a Bachelor's degree from the University of California - Los Angeles. He is a qualified lawyer in Hong Kong and the U.S.
